Kangaroo Valley Environment
Group is an Incorporated body set up to promote and help preserve the environmental
beauty of Kangaroo Valley. The group is comprised of members from among
the residents of Kangaroo Valley who volunteer their time and activity
in working bees. The group meets on the second Monday of each month.
The Kangaroo Valley Environment group has received support from the Sydney
Catchment Authority, Shoalhaven City Council, and Shoalhaven Landcare Association.
Grants from these organisations have enabled the group to coordinate major
weed removal programs along the Kangaroo River and its tributaries which
run through the Kangaroo Valley township, and to develop an educational
DVD on the natural environment of Kangaroo Valley.
The Kangaroo Valley Environment Group has close links with the Broger's
Creek Landcare group, the Upper Kangaroo Valley Landcare Group, the Friends
of the brush-tailed rock wallaby and the Kangaroo Valley Garden Group.
A list of the fauna that has been sighted in Kangaroo Valley and native
